Photography

I’m a Canadian that has been living in Barcelona since 2006. I like to try to tell a story with my photos; the old adage ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ is as true as ever.

My favorite things to shoot are the night sky, landscapes (high resolution panoramas), and the very small (macrophotography). I started photography in my early teens with a Kodak compact film camera and I got into SLR photography in about 1998 when I purchased a Minolta reflex camera with a primary (50 mm) lens. I later bought a 300 mm prime telephoto lens. Having two prime lenses forced me to zoom with my feet. I put down the camera for about five years in the early 2000s, but picked it up again when digital photography came mainstream.

Having owned a film camera (and the cost inherent in it) taught me how to be thrifty with my photos, which in turn forced me to take time to compose before shooting. Since 2006 I have been increasingly invested in photography, and my interests have only grown over time. Over the next years I will be exploring studio photography and the use of high speed sync flashes.

Please come back to browse through my photos and don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you would like to have a high-quality copy or to collaborate on a project.

My rate is 22€/hour, for both acquisition and/or editing/retouching of photos.
